Both Yangon and Singapore are warm cities, but as their rainy seasons are at different times of the year, it’s worth planning ahead if you want a dry trip.

Singapore’s colonial past is revealed with a trip to the Riverside district, known among the locals as the Civic Region. This was where the city was founded in the 19th century and from the banks of the Singapore river you can enjoy an incredible view of the modern cityscape. The city’s cricket field called the Padang was created in the 1830s and has the City Hall nearby. Its design features 18 Corinthian columns. There are lots of chic cafes, bars, and restaurants to try out on the quay but in October the place really comes alive, as 100 dragon boats pass by during the city regatta. The city has a good transport infrastructure so getting around is not a problem.
